Tame Your Mane!
Naturally curly hair is both beautiful and unique, but it can undoubtedly be tougher to style than naturally straight hair. Occasionally, it is nice to straighten everything out! However, the process can be lengthy and tedious, especially if you don’t go about it the right way. We have three tips for you when you’re ready to tame your mane and take your curls to the straight side!
Tip 1 – Start with clean hair! You may have heard that dirty hair styles easier, but clean hair straightens better. If you want to take your curls to a sleek look, shampoo your hair the night before or the day of your straightening journey. Not only will it initially straighten better, but it will hold the straight look for longer as well.
Tip 2 – Section the hair off! Especially when dealing with excessively thick or long hair, it is recommended to tackle the straightening in sections. We recommend using wet clips, or any hair parting clips. Part the hair into as many sections as necessary, depending on the length and thickness.
Tip 3 – Let down the sections one at a time to straighten. Comb through each section before running the flat iron over it. Try not to go over the same section of hair more than two to three times to avoid heat damage.
Follow our guide, and your end result should be beautiful, long lasting sleek hair!
